About the Artist

A California native, Niree is known for her vibrant, emotionally resonant paintings that blend precision with playfulness. Though she holds a Ph.D. in economics and works at a consulting firm, painting remains a central and lifelong passion. Her artistic journey began in early childhood, when she first recognized a deep connection to color, form, and expression.
Niree’s landscape paintings often feature bodies of water, rendered in vivid, saturated hues and rhythmic, repeating patterns. The skies in these works are given equal weight, emphasizing the balance and interconnectedness found in the natural world. In her Candy Mountains series, she reimagines familiar environments as whimsical dreamscapes filled with colorful skies and candy-coated hills, drawing inspiration from the games and stories of her youth.
Her abstract work is characterized by clean lines, bold shapes, and a joyful embrace of color. Created during a time of uncertainty, these compositions reflect a desire for love, grounding, and play. Viewers and collectors frequently describe them as meditative, soulful, and visually soothing—pieces that invite quiet contemplation as well as emotional resonance.
Across all her work, Niree’s signature style emerges through smooth, opaque applications of paint that allow the canvas’s texture to show through. Her steady hand and exacting linework create a sense of clarity and structure, even within highly expressive compositions.
Niree’s paintings have been exhibited throughout Orange County and Los Angeles, including at the Newport Beach Art Exhibit, Laguna Art Gallery, Las Laguna Art Gallery, Neutra Museum, Beverly Hills Art Show, and others.
